What factors affect the size of the spark plug gap

Intake form: Naturally aspirated engine clearance is usually greater than or equal to 0.8mm, turbocharged engine clearance is usually less than or equal to 0.8mm.

Compression ratio: Theoretically, the larger the compression ratio, the smaller the gap needs to be, which is determined by the overall engine parameters and calibration.

Ignition coil: Theoretically, the higher the energy provided by the ignition coil, the higher the breakdown voltage, and the gap can be appropriately amplified, except for turbocharged engines, which are determined by the overall engine parameters and calibration.

Electrode material: Iridium platinum material because the electrode is thin, easy to discharge, theoretically can be appropriately enlarged, which is determined by the overall parameters of the engine and calibration.
