Spark plug
Ensures reliable starting even when the motor is cold
Gasoline engines require an ignition spark to start the combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. This spark is generated at the spark plug. Bosch offers a wide range of products, including the right spark plug for diverse applications – from high-performance bikes to small bikes.

Operation
Features of the spark plug
The spark plug’s main task is to generate the spark to ignite the compressed air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber. For this, the spark plug requires an ignition voltage of up to 30,000 Volts, coming from the ignition coil and transferred to the spark plug. Reliable ignition not only optimizes fuel economy but provides comfortable cold starting.Technical specifications

PRODUCT BENEFITS FOR MANUFACTURERS
- Optimum engine protection: nickel-plated housing and thread, which must not be lubricated, provide protection against corrosion and seizure at the aluminum cylinder head
- Higher performance: heat-shrink assembly ensures gas-tightness and a steady heat range
- Higher wear resistance: the center electrode with copper core features a higher thermal conductivity, providing protection against thermal overload, corrosion and material erosion
- Smoother engine operation and steady acceleration: the ground electrode made from nickel alloy features a higher heat conductivity
- Hassle-free replacement of spark plugs: factory-set electrode gap to suit the respective engine
